Unemployment rates fell in 11 states and remained stable in 39 states and the District of Columbia in June.
The U.S. unemployment rate was little changed at 3.6% in June.
Three states and the District of Columbia had unemployment rates above the U.S. average in June.
Twenty-two states had jobless rate decreases from a year earlier, eight states and the District had increases, and twenty states had little change.
New Hampshire and South Dakota had the lowest jobless rates in June at 1.8%, followed by Nebraska and Vermont at 1.9%.
The rates in Arkansas (2.6%), Maryland (2.0%), Massachusetts (2.6%), Mississippi (3.1%), New Hampshire (1.8%), Ohio (3.4%), Oklahoma (2.7%), Pennsylvania (3.8%), and South Dakota (1.8%) set new series lows.
Nevada has the highest unemployment rate again at 5.4%, followed by the District at 5.1%, and California at 4.6%.
In June, 11 states had over-the-month unemployment rate decreases, the largest of which was in Maryland falling 0.4% from May.
