- The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased 0.4% in September after rising 0.3% in August.
- CPI increased 5.4% from a year ago, the same reading as July and the largest 12-month increase since August 2008.
- The core CPI, which excludes food and energy, rose 0.2% in September and is up 4.0% from the previous year.
- The energy index is up 24.8% and the food index is up 4.6% from the previous year.
