- The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased 0.9% in June after rising 0.6% in May.
- This was the largest 1-month change since June 2008 when the index rose 1.0%.
- CPI increased 5.4% from a year ago, the largest 12-month increase since August 2008.
- Used cars and trucks rose 10.5% in June, food rose 0.8%, and energy rose by 1.5%.
- The core CPI, which excludes food and energy, rose 0.9% in June and is up 4.5% from the previous year.
